Hello and Welcome!

Escape into my world of fantasy, occasional magic, adventure, travel and dance.

Whether you are a young reader or older, a member of my family or part of my circle of friends, I’m delighted you dropped by. And I hope you’ll find something to interest you on my site.

My children’s books are full of fantasy and magic, sometimes sprinkled with ballet and/or worldwide travel. My blogs are mostly about my travels and written for family and friends, but you’re welcome to read them if you’re interested. They invariably include my dogs, and sometimes the cat, though he doesn’t travel with us so tends to get left out.

So, here’s a little bit about me. My school days were spent at ballet boarding school which is where I get the inspiration for The Graceful Ghost. After I left, I spent a few years dancing around Europe before I opened my own ballet school in Athens, Greece. Now I live in rural England with my husband and our pets.

Apart from writing, animals are my passion! I’m so lucky to live in the countryside, on a smallholding, where we have hens, sheep, occasionally horses or cattle (we had Highland Cattle for a while) dogs, cats and an abundance of wildlife.

Digit and Mokey, my current dogs, share my office space with me and keep me company with their snores. I call my office The Burrow, because it’s as cosy as a rabbit’s burrow. Then I spell it Burreau, which is a mixture of burrow and the French bureau (office). The cat is called Moji (which frequently gets confused with Mokey!) He likes to visit the burrow too!

Mokey is the black one, Digit the Jack Russell (miniature)

Digit can’t resist a cuddle-rug – even if it is on top of the desk.

My first book, THE GRACEFUL GHOST, is a story that has been with me for a long time and draws on my memories and experiences. Of course, I’ve never met a ghost, but I wouldn’t mind meeting one like Grace. The sequel, BALLET SCHOOL BOYS is full of fun and high jinks because, as the title suggests, boys come to the school. Collectively the books are called The Amberwood Hall Ballet School series. In the third book, BALLET SCHOOL RUMOURS, tensions run high between pupils when someone anonymously starts spreading mean rumours. And in book four,  TRIPLE TROUBLE at AMBERWOOD, the twists, turns and intricacies will surprise you right up to the very end.

If you want to know how the ghosts came to be haunting Amberwood Hall, check out the free novella THE GHOSTS OF AMBERWOOD for their story.

The other series I have on the go is TALLY AND THE ANGEL. There are currently three books: Book One is set in India, Book Two in the Yukon, Canada and Book Three in Japan. This series takes you around the world with Tally’s adventures and all my fans are wondering where they will go next. As you’re here and reading this, I’ll let you into a secret – it’s Greece!

That’s probably enough about me now. Oh, except for the little known fact that….

 I love birthday cake!

If eating was to be banned, and I had to choose my last meal, it would be a huge birthday cake with vanilla sponge, raspberry jam, butter icing and icing.
